Barrier closed

High spring tides mean the Thames Barrier is being shut a few times this week, with water temporarily flooding (as planned) onto the river bank between the barrier and Woolwich.

I took some photos on a run to Woolwich and back to east Greenwich, but there was a lot of doubling back as I found my way blocked by flooded paths (though no impact on local people, etc as the walls and embankments that also form part of London's flood protection were doing their job too).

Wife and daughter safely back from Egypt. Seems like they took their holiday at just the right time. Travel restrictions on international flights now being introduced to counter the coronavirus threat.
