Christ Church

Christ Church, Macclesfield, always looks rather forbidding to me. Unlike the parish church, it has no spire and neither does the Catholic church. The priest told us that old laws said no church in the town should be taller than the parish church. hence the lack of spires. There are two churches going uphill towards the Pennines, both with spires, but I don't suppose they could do anything about that.
