Fig leaf
The small fig tree in my garden is descended via several cuttings from one reputed to have been planted by Charles Dickens in his garden. I pruned it back at the end of last year and put two of the prunings into pots to see if they would take. Frankly, I thought they were both dead as nothing was happening but I noticed today that one has now got a few new buds and this one has put out a new leaf, so it seems I haven't killed them yet.
Good news from my oldest friend who I have known since I was five years old; he's had the 'all clear' after having treatment for throat cancer. Hopefully we will be able to meet up to lubricate his throat again once this virus business is over and done with.
