Nature walk.
This morning saw us leave the house and walk the 5 minutes to Burton Riggs Nature reserve. We crossed the railway line and walked underneath the A64 road bridge.
Burton Riggs was formerly a gravel pit that supplied the construction material for the A64 Seamer Bypass during the 1970’s. It now has two lakes plus many ponds with walks all around the perimeter. It is the home of many migrating birds. We saw Canada geese, great crested grebes ( too far away to get a good photo) and tufted ducks. We only saw one other couple walking their dogs. We walked home back over the railway line and through the deserted swing park.
Mr P C washed and hosed down the greenhouse ready for the plants that have taken over our spare room, I made some parsley cubes for the freezer.
We had our third meal out of a chicken.
1 Sunday...roast dinner
2 Monday...curry
3Tuesday... Home made enchiladas.
