Congratulations Iris!

The big event of the day was Iris' PhD viva. Normally this would have been a face-to-face meeting in Edinburgh, but instead was conducted by video conferencing with participants in Edinburgh, Dundee and Slovenia. Iris performed very well and will be awarded her PhD subject to the completion of minor corrections. I asked Iris if she would send me a celebratory photograph for my blip, so here it is.

If we weren't in coronavirus lockdown, we would also be celebrating a dear friend's 50th birthday with him today :-(
