Journey home

Back blip

I was informed by the HG this morning that the snow started falling at 5am.   I was of course sound asleep at this time.  Anyhow, after a hearty breakfast and a lot of hugs, kisses and goodbyes, with promises to be here again next year, we left for home.  

The snow was by this time quite deep, but the roads were fine as the traffic had kept moving and kept it down.  It was really lovely driving along the country roads with the snow falling, and the trees were laden and white.  

Got home safely and the house was freezing.  I had set the heating timer to come on at intervals for a short time during the day and evening while we were away, but it seems the switch did not trip on, and so it was really cold.  So after rectifying the switch, we decided to go out to shop for food, so that the house would be warm when we returned.  Good plan.

Had a quiet evening watching the television, and an early night...... bliss!!!!
