Movement Control Order (MCO) day 15
Another day, another month. A more positive day today. Good morning in the school with Amelia doing some really focused work on the alphabet. There were more interactive games, which they like.
Wen wasn't teaching this afternoon so I had the afternoon off while she did crafts with the girls. A good long chat with L in Crieff (which went though WhatsApp, Zoom and finally settled on Skype) filled an hour happily and successfully. Also had a brief chat with #2 son over in his apartment. I managed to do some cross stitch and we had dinner on a steamy balcony. Last night's pasta transformed into carbonara.
We are at level 2 of the lockdown. Returning Malaysians have to go to quarantine centres for 14 days, food shops and food deliveries can only happen 8-8, public transport is 2 hours in the morning and evening and private transport only 10-8. The milk that normally comes at 4 am arrived at 11 but treats that Wen had ordered did arrive plus a loaf of bread from her mum.
It is so quiet you can hear the cicadas in the gardens at night and the birds. The mynahs of course but also the Asian Koel which has a very distinctive call. The grounds are being kept well by the gardeners, the cleaners and the pool guy. And today there was a new sight, a lawnmower. First time if seen one in 11 years of coming here. Usually the grass is trimmed manually. Today 4 gardeners with a lawnmower, s strimmer and 2 to bag up. Not much social distancing going on there.
Our stats: 2908 cases (142 new today), 22.2%, 645, recovered and discharged from hospital, 102 in ICU, 66 on vents and sadly 45 deaths.
15 days gone, 13 to go
