Amaryllis with two open flowers in the morning

This was the scene that greeted me when I got up to make tea this morning. Tow of the four flowers had unfurled completely, one was nearly the and the third is still sticking straight up awaiting its turn. I wasn't sure about shooting into the early morning light but hoped to catch the translucent effect of the petals, when the strength of the light was enough to penetrate through the tissue.

The vertical stem on the left is another plant which has also shot up in the last couple of days since I brought it into the warmth of the house. It will produce deep red flowers, so I wanted to catch the purity of these colours of the first plant before they fade somewhat.
