Holed Up
Today, for Nature class, we went out and collected all sorts - leaves, flowers, bark, pine needles, twigs. Then came home and sorted according to different criteria - colour, shape, type of material. And then made some Nature art from some of it - Zion made a face (extra) and Allegra a flower. An idea from a maths link HarlingDarling sent me. They also both got lifted by Dada into a hole in "our" oak tree.
We also made cards with nine things (A -balloons and Z -Victoria sponges) on them, to show to Asha in Ibiza, when we rang her up to sing Happy Birthday.
Lent verse is 2 Corinthians 4v8-9:
We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken.
When it gets difficult, may we look to God for strength...
Gratefuls:
- parents like Lydie and Danny doing their best to make their kids' birthdays fun in difficult situations
- finding a large packet of pasta, and a small one of rice, in our corner store when nowhere else has any
- bluebells beginning to appear in Rectory Park
