Here there and everywhere

Lockdown day 19

My second HeartsForHeroes photo today.  'Aroha' in Maori means 'love' and this much-loved heart was given to me by my best NZ friend C many years ago and sits proudly on our bookshelves.  Showing gratitude to all key workers who are working their hearts out to keep things afloat and especially the health workers.  Our very own health worker who we want to send some 'aroha' to during these days is Ferran, our next door neighbour and good friend.  He's a nurse, works nightshifts  in oncology at one of the main hospitals here in Barcelona.  His wife and son are in lockdown, like the rest of us. He's at the frontline and when he gets home from his shift in the morning, Merce washes everything he was wearing and then cleans their bathroom and shower with bleach after he's showered.  She does this with 'aroha' day in, day out.   Merce and I checked in with each other today, like most days, and she was feeling it particularly hard today.  It broke her heart to do her weekly shop this morning and see the streets deserted of life.  This blip is dedicated to them: Ferran, Merce and their son Bru.  We love you!

They've been on our blip many times and here's just one:  https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2034266649363745995   Ferran is front left and Merce at his side.
