Cross...quagmire!

Horrific!!!
To anybody that's heard me complain about cross country -and I have...at length- I apologise.  Nothing compares to the mud coated mud on mud on water logged mud that was today's Midlands xc Championships over in Stafford Common.

The bend here at the start of the Women's second lap was possibly the firmest part of the whole course.  That was the problem, there's usually at least one point where you can catch your breath and coast slightly ready for the next tough spot.  Today it was near impossible to run in a straight line thanks to constantly sliding sideways -or sinking knee deep, well my knee deep- with every step.  Still it's all over now and I can say I almost enjoyed it...
...now I'm clean anyway.
