Walking the Dog - 57
Upstairs.
Busy morning , daughter and family should start moving house today, just waiting for paperwork from the land registry .
They didn’t expect this to be happening because of Covid 19 but have been instructed that their move should go ahead.
That’s fine except they can’t employ a removal firm because of restrictions so they are having to hire a van and do it themselves, that wasn’t in the original plan.
She usually does a weekly shop for me today but understandably that won’t be happening.
Next door neighbour was already at Booths , a local supermarket and had just text me asked if we needed anything so l have just texted back the essentials we need.
At the same time one Granddaughter was messaging me on my iPad and another friend was texting me to tell me she has temporarily joined the district nurse team in Ilkley after being moved from her desk job with the NHS.
All this was manageable except l was trying to give Mr P a much needed haircut at the same time.
Wanted to do it then so we could change the sheets when the carer arrived and she did arrive in the middle of all this!
Doctor and district nurse usually phone on the landline around this time, thankfully they didn’t - expect they are bogged down with work just like everyone else in the NHS.
What a pleasure and privilege to join in with the communal round of applause for all key workers that are keeping us safe and healthy, some paying the ultimate price in doing so.
Mr P sat on the side of his bed to join in and rang a cow bell, neighbours came to our window to wave at us , it was an uplifting moment.
Hope you are all doing as well as you can manage in these uncertain times and thank you for the stars and hearts x
