Blooming lovely
Got into trouble this morning from my daughter because I was a bit harsh about Joe Wicks. I think what he is doing is brilliant, especially for the kids both at home and in schools, but just wasn’t sure he was for me. Tried him again this morning
(though my thighs were aching from yesterday’s session) and enjoyed it more. Think it was partly because there was music which I knew and could sing along to and the exercises were more stretches which I like. Jumping up and down is great for the kids but I think my daughter’s comment about needing a sports bra is probably right, not for me. I’ve seen something about there being a ‘seniors’ programme but what I saw on TV seemed to be exercising sitting on chairs which I don’t think I’m quite ready for yet!
After some cleaning and ironing I joined our singing group on line. Friday’s group is usually musicals and I don’t have the words but today was a mix of musicals and pop and I got the lyrics for the two well known musical numbers easily on my phone. Great fun again, glad no one can hear me!
Had a lovely ‘remote’ visit from friends after lunch, they came on their bikes and we had a good chat with them standing down our drive.
So the social distancing continues.
It had barely started two weeks ago when I received these wonderful flowers from Grace, John and Eda. Thought they were looking so good with all the lilies open they should be my flower Friday blip. I’m not a fan of lilies and Grace was cross they had used them (apparently they are bad for cats too). The scent, which is usually my issue, hasn’t been too overpowering and the cat has shown no interest in them. I’ve only had to dead head one bloom and the pink and white flowers my son bought me have only had to have two stems removed.
Lovely to have had for these as an accompaniment to the first two weeks of lockdown.
Have a safe weekend everyone, I think I will be aching!
