Fenton Tower
As Molly went for a walk to East Linton again today with her friend Henry and his owners I decided to go for a bike run.
Cycled to Drem, on to Fenton Barns and back round by Kingston, Congalton and Merryhatton.
Today's blip is of Fenton Tower at Kingston. There has been a fortified tower on the site since the 11th century. The present building was originally built around 1550. 100 years later it was sacked, along with Dirleton Castle, by Oliver Cromwell when he invaded Scotland. It lay in ruins until 1992 when it was restored and is now a rather luxurious hotel. It famously was used as Archie's Castle in the children's TV programme Balamory.
When Molly got back from her walk she needed a bath as she had gone into a very muddy ditch!
