Burrayman

The morning was unpleasant, but when it brightened up I headed down to Burray where I took this shot of the sort of wooden viking totem pole.

The usual birds on the water- goldeneye, long-tailed ducks, red-breasted mergansers etc. On the shore I found 3 'mermaids purses'; skate egg-cases, which I photographed and will report to the Shark, Ray and Skate Trust which is recording all such data to map breeding areas of those animals.
