Not the Darrien Gap!

After a couple of afternoons in the dell, (as Gill calls the railway cutting) I have gone for a diary blip today.  I hacked my way up to the fence on the far side - the open section on the RHS, while Gill has been clearing the flat muddy section on the far side of the stream.  We've both been clearing some of the mud/slurry from the stream which has left it running surprisingly clear now, but some of the gunk made its way into our neighbour's section so we have all been spending time with rakes pulling it out onto the banks to dry off.   Possibly better seen in the extra.

Having made access possible up to the far side I fixed the trail camera to an old fence post in the hope of catching the deer we occasionally see or possibly the owl(s).  We found three hazel trees up near the fence too, so I have cut back some of the scrub to give them more light and space to develop.  Found a couple of candidates for the wild flower challenge too :-)

Our neighbour planted the spindly trees you can see on the boundary a few years ago and asked if he could come and trim them yesterday,  normally we would have offered to help, but with the current restrictions, we retreated back into our own garden for a break and had to leave him to it - which felt very strange!

Hope everyone else is managing to get some enjoyment from the spring like weather.
