Finally, my 14 days quarantine is over so I was able to go for a neighbourhood walk. It was chilly and drizzling so not particularly pleasant conditions but I enjoyed it nevertheless, and not surprisingly hardly anyone about.
I managed to obtain a range of useful gardening stuff including some small plants, seeds and soil plus watering system repair items, from a not quite entirely closed down garden centre (they are basically only doing deliveries, but said I could come and choose what I wanted them to deliver). They delivered very promptly about an hour after I got home.
In the evening we sampled one of the Met Opera daily screenings online - they're streaming a different opera from their archives every evening. This one was Verdi's Don Carlo, which I didn't know at all. A really impressive production as usual... amazing music, fantastic performances and some interesting historical and philosophical themes as well as the inevitable love story. A bit long at three and a half hours (!) but it was worth it.
