The sun has got its hat on
The seedlings have gone outside now it's warmer and green leaves are unfurling all around the garden and in the park. Fred and I walked through Streatham Common this afternoon. I was worried that it would be busy, but it was fine. People were being sensible with social distancing and although some were sitting on the grass, they weren't doing so in groups.
I joined the queue for Sainsburys while Fred headed back up the hill. The supermarket seemed more relaxed than my visit last Saturday though that could be that because I'd been once, I knew what it would be like. I managed to get eggs and lentils, but the frozen veggie stuff was still out. Luckily, there were veggie sausages in the fridge aisle. That's me stocked up for another week.
I found Fred as you see him in the blip – only one person out of a couple is allowed in the supermarket. The police were moving people on around the park. Fred and I discussed the pros and cons of this. It seems a little draconian to begrudge people a little sunshine if they don't have an outside space in their home. If the park was dangerously crowded (people having to squeeze within the 2m distance to get about), I could understand it better. As of today, the council have closed West Norwood Cemetery and the larger Brockwell Park due to too many people being out and about. I can't see how they can close the commons as they are open spaces. We shall see. I'm thankful again that I have a garden.
At this moment, a friend is hosting a stay-at-home indie disco. It's here if you want to join in now or at another time. I'm really enjoying a boogie in the kitchen.
I've just noticed the Moon in the blip, too!
