Steady As She Goes ...
Yay! Here comes the Sun!
New Zealand’s Daylight Saving changed last night, so the sunrise was earlier this morning. I was still in bed, so it was like having a gorgeous grandstand view. I had to go out onto the little deck to capture it, into the freezing wind. So I had to get back into bed afterwards. LOL
On one hand my situation is challenging and stressful, worrying and even scary at times, especially watching TV news and seeing what’s happening now in the USA. On the other hand, I’m having a lot of contact with family especially, but also with many friends, some of whom I’ve not had contact with for ages. Such a blessing.
Our Government’s 1pm Update was quietly encouraging & uplifting too.
Hence my phrase “Steady As She Goes”, a phrase used by those steering the passage of boats.
Our PM said that the prediction of new cases in NZ, just before our Lockdown, was that we’d have 4,000 by now. Instead we have 1,039. Jacinda Ardern puts it down to the Govt’s decision to Go Early & Go Hard. Our Lockdown started 25 days after our first case. Let’s hope fervently that this situation here continues and doesn’t balloon as it has so dreadfully in so many places. We absolutely have to keep staying home, and breaking the chain.
