Along the canal

I went to the canal at Hindford today as the weather was good.  In order to comply with the lockdown I walked from home which isn't the most pleasant walk as it's a mile each way on a main road then half a mile each way on a less busy one. I normally drive there so that I can have a longer walk along the canal rather than on the road but that wasn't possible due to the situation.

On the way I stopped to look at a stream that crosses under the road and saw a kingfisher fly along - always a delight! I also saw a mistlethrush which was great too.

I enjoyed my walk along the canal and didn't see anyone on the towpath which was a good job as it would have been difficult to keep a social distance away.
