WHITE FACED HERON Ardea novaehollandiae
The White-faced heron was self introduced from Australia and was rare in NZ until the 1940's - it is now widespread throughout NZ.
I got quite a few different action shots of this bird who seemed quite happy with my presence. I prefered this one as I think its more classical and shows off the bird as a specimen which again I think is good in the Natural History frame. - Boring really - what do you think ??
