A Different Look

On February 29, I blipped this same rugosa rose bush and the remnants of the last rose. At that point, there were no cases of COVID-19 in our county.

My March 13 blip was the first mention of confirmed cases here -- just two. How different it is today! Twenty-four days later, we now have 224 confirmed cases, 25 of which are new today, and 13 deaths, 4 of which are new today.

One week ago, there were 116 confirmed cases and 7 deaths.

The confirmed cases by age table today was interesting: those age 80+ constituted 26% of confirmed cases, while those age 70-79 (our cohort) were only 8%. The decades from age 20 to age 60 were each at 13%.

That's enough geekiness for one blip... do take a look at the extra, as our first forsythia bud of the year is about to blossom! The natural world carries on as usual, thank goodness.
