On the hoof

Today was a 'longer walk' day and as there had been a little rain overnight we did the walk to the end of the lane and back rather than across the fields, although I'm sure the fields would have been fine as the ground has been very dry.  We passed this scene through one of the gates along the lane; the horse in the foreground was initially pleased to see us but soon lost interest when it realised we were not bearing food.
