Herd

The herd seems rather optimistic in gathering under the tree for shade when the leaves aren't out yet.

It was a sunny day, and the wind had dropped a little which made it warmer. Chiff-chaff and willow warbler song accompanied me on my walk, while a pair of red kites soared overhead. In the wood I saw my first orange-tp and small white butterflies of the year. There were also a lot more small tortoiseshell about today, and still plenty of peacock and comma.
