Fine sunny day had a kind soul drop off some some leeks they'd grown.
Backed off conversation seems the son his wife and child are in the middle of a house transaction which has stalled - hence homeless and had to rent as they can't move in with them. Odd times indeed.
Will have to venture out shopping soon.
