It's cold outside

"Look around, look around at how Lucky we are to be alive right now"
- Eliza and Peggy (Hamilton)  - Lin-Manuel Miranda

Life in the times of corona moves on in acceptable and unacceptable ways. Yesterday's stormy weather abated to bad tempered winds and bright sunshine but I wasn't fooled - it was cold and I didn't go out for the fourth day in row.

Persembe (pictured) is one of the 'not really mine but she visits a lot' campus cats. I don't normally allow her on my bed, but she was there post snack before I realized, and I didn't have the heart.... it's cold outside.

It was a 'normal' school day in its own abnormal way, in that although I never left home, I taught a lesson and attended three meetings. Bemused by the idea that three weeks ago I'd never heard of Zoom. Now I couldn't function without it.

A colleague's husband (in hospital since Friday) has had their covid 19 test confirmed as positive. He is doing well and expected to be home by Friday. The news was all a bit too close to home for me however, and led to a long early evening zoomchat with Caitlin to get some normalcy, which in turn led me to spend the rest of the evening watching the musical "Hamilton" on line. Wow. Really. Just, wow.  Also wow to those theaters, concert halls, museums and galleries that are uploading performances or virtual tours for free during these days in the life of corona. I'm ready for you now.

Stay safe Blip buddies
