And Again!

The flower blipper strikes again! Such is the quality of my life at the moment that photos of flowers and weeds figure greatly in my film can.

This bunch of carnations when I received it did not inspire much confidence in the blooms becoming spectacular in any way, but surprises can appear in the flower world as well as in the Coronavirus world and they have been transformed into things of beauty.

With terrible irony, today is a beautiful spring day full of sunshine with some of the trees over the railings sporting the palest of green buds and the gardens on my daily walk bursting with all colours of primroses, narcissi and tulips. Magnolia bushes weighted down with cream flowers stand alongside Camellias of every shade of pink and red. It a feast for the eyes and a welcome change from the television pictures of the pain and suffering going on behind closed doors beyond the exuberance of nature’s new beginning.

The police have been out and about in the Meadows gently encouraging the young people who think exercise constitutes lying prone on their backs in the sun to rise up and be on their way.
I have noticed a marked increase in the volume of people and traffic on the roads since the weekend. It seems the message of staying home unless for the given reasons we hear about 10 times a day is falling on many deaf ears. ‘Twas ever thus.
