Wide Wednesday - Looking Up

I couldn't have asked for a better subject for the wide Wednesday theme than our palm tree guy. He was at the complex to remove a dead tree. This is the third chunk of palm trunk, each about two meters long, he took down today. 

The process consists of him shimmying up the tree, tying off the piece to be removed with a rope (barely visible running to the left) tied to another palm tree, then hacking away with a hatchet. Once he has cut part way through the trunk, he comes down and pulls on this rope, which is attached to the top of the piece, until it breaks off. This piece is stopped from falling to the ground by the first rope, which he unties and uses to gently lower the chunk to the ground. Quite the intricate process which he repeated over and over, working his way down the tree.
