Busy Board
Melamny came by this afternoon, and we talked at a distance, wished her a happy birthday, and left the stuff at the end of the garden for her to collect. She in turn brought some stuff for me to sew and some Jane Austen DVDs for us to watch. The sewing all got done that dame day. The 'busy board' idea is a very imaginative one; a board, I think, with lots of things on it like bolts, padlocks, buttons, shoelaces etc. for her daughter to play with / practice. So I made the miniature shoe and put eyelets in it, because I have an eyelet putter-inner-er, and did the buttonhole and put the button on because I have a sewing machine. It was great fun.
Me and Dad did the sealant around the edge of the bathroom lino, which was very fun, very sticky, and very vinegarey. I also drafted the pattern for and cut out of the fabric some bits of lining for a tailored jacket I'm making. I am using several different bits of lining fabric, in different colours / textures because I don't have enough of each. Photos will follow when sewing is completed.
