Abstract Thursday: Food

"Food" is the theme for today's Abstract Thursday challenge, hosted by Ingeborg.

I laid my laptop screen flat with an all-white photo on it to use as a light panel (one day I must get a proper one!). I covered it with crinkly red cellophane (from my store of "things which might be useful sometime for blips") then scattered a mixture of foods on it: white & brown rice, dry couscous, pine nuts (I thought I'd picked up orzo but never mind) , Fusilli (spiral) pasta (3 colours) and Conchiglie (shell) pasta.

Having taken a photo I decided it needed spicing up a bit: cue some fartnarkling in Photoshop until I liked the result: solarise, invert colours, and add an oil paint filter. Here's the rather garish outcome!
