A Walk on the wild side

I have wanted to do the walk to Orasay Island over at Ullinish for ages. The last time we decided to go the weather was horrible so decided not to brave it.

Today the weather was equally bad but hubby and I decided we would just wrap up well and go for it! The island can only be reached when the tide is low enough, so having checked the tide times for today we headed off.

It was certainly wild, with strong winds and heavy showers, the skin on my face now feels like it has been sand blasted! Am now going to have a hot bowl of soup in an attempt to get warm again!

Will definitely do the walk again in the summer time as the views are stunning but not at their best today.

Bizarrely though, it looks quite calm in this picture but it is very deceptive!
