Joe & Simone Day

A bittersweet day. Today should have been their wedding today with friends and family assembling from Cork, Bristol, Manchester, Washington, Auckland and Wellington as well as local friends. As you know we are the only ones who made it and the wedding is postponed. We decided to make a day of it anyway and gathered in our finery at 8.30am our end for a zoom with my brother and Will in Manchester and Bristol respectively. The bride and groom to be were asleep when we rocked up, Esme having been frolicking at 5am. We gathered: Joe in a sparkly jacket, Simone in a sparkly cape, Himself with a sparkly bow tie, Barry in a hummingbird waistcoat, Will in a chiffon sparkly headband, Esme in a sparkly dress and me with sparkly sandals and eyes ( apologies Jeano but your dress was eventually too heavy!).
Later they went off to the river for a quiet picnic and we looked after Esme - latest word 'cheers' ,plus enthusiastic action.
I have just cooked a large supper- spinach parcels, potato salad and a Greek salad followed by a colossal trifle.
