Day 25 - not so sheltered after all

Went for gentle walk around the spectacular Vetvika during the day, and walked along the beach in the afternoon looking for driftwood to burn.

Unfortunately when we came back the tent pole had snapped during one of the vicious gusts.

Mended it by splinting a peg to the pole with duct tape. 1hr later (20:30) the pole had snapped in another place.

With heavy rain and more wind forecasted we decided the best thing to do was walk the 2.5hrs back and sleep in the car - arriving a little after 11pm.
