Heavy Drops

The day turned to rain by the time I ventured out. Even though temperatures still reached 63°F today, I didn't feel inspired to stay out long. I tried to capture the raindrops landing in the water and the circular ripples that followed. After several attempts I settled on a shutter speed of 1/40, although I had to raise the iso a bit to get there.

Dynamic range was still quite high because of the sky reflecting in the water and consequently very dark shadows were recorded that required quite a lot of recovery.
