When I spoke to Ashley last night he told me that he ran his running route in reverse and was amazed at the difference it made saying that it was like running a completely new route. He said I should try that on my daily cycle ride.
So this morning after ten years of cycling the same route every day today I cycled it in the other direction. I took my app with me to see out of interest if it gave the same distance.
Ashley was right it was completely different. I obviously saw everything from a another angle I also had to concentrate when turning right where I would have turned left and left when I would have turned right. On the usual way round there are two particularly steep hills these of course we're a lot easier cycling down but overall this way round there seemed to be more long drawn out up hill sections that I usually cycle down so tomorrow I will revert to normal practice. Which is far easier as I don't have to concentrate and I'd rather have two steep hills and more long drawn out down hill sections. I suppose not surprisingly my app showed an identical time speed and distance as my ride on Monday.
Before I started work on the Bentley I erected my new used tent which I bought off eBay earlier this week. Ros was not too pleased that I had bought yet another tent but you can never have enough spare tents and a Vango 500 teepee doesn't come up for sale that often. The tent is in excellent condition with just a handful of bent pegs.
Work on the Bentley was the same old same old filling and rubbing down. As the larger areas of repair are completed the smaller areas rise to the surface and that's what took the time today.
Early evening we had a three way Skype with Ashley and Hayden & Co. Ashley had just returned from a 4 hour cycle ride and Hayden & Co. had been on a 5 hour walk with a bit of a picnic for the kids enroute.
