The Corona Diaries, day #27
Fleur du jour, bonjour.
I love that weekends are now two whole days to do what we want, and not one day of clearing up from the last week, shopping and taxiing kids around, then the next day spent gearing up for the next week.
I wish the kids could still do their activities and will happily taxi them wherever they want to go when this is all over, but in the meantime, this slower pace of life (perhaps very selfishly) suits me.
A gentle start to the day, then I walked into the village for the fresh stuff I didn't buy at the supermarket yesterday. A really nice outing - as it's Easter weekend, the village was as lively as it could be in these strange times. Queues (with 2-metre gaps between people) outside the baker's, the butcher's, the cheese shop... people chatting and everyone joining in as we're so far apart we have to talk quite loudly, so it all becomes one big conversation.
No, this situation is not normal, no, we can't be expected to live like this for months to come, yes, it's extremely frightening when you think about the bigger picture, but I'm taking the positives where I find them.
Lunch outside then some work in the garden. A little bit achey this evening from the garden work, but so pleased to get away from the desk and move a bit, it's worth it!
