A slice of Lesley's life

The Sunday Way

Having spent a week scrabbling around for some quite desperate blips today I find myself spoiled for choice...

Lovely morning with my brother, sis-in-law and nieces could have provided a game of Jackson v Uncle Paul chess (UP still holding on undefeated), pancake brunch or the cousins playing dodgeball in the garden.

Later this afternoon there could have been many roast dinners, yorkshire puddings, glasses of wine, Birra Moretti on draught, jazz musicians and card games as we enjoyed Jazz and a Joint at the Crown and Anchor in Chiswick.

In between these we headed to Richmond Park to give the football deprived puppy a run around and enjoy the sunshine and positively balmy temperatures (it was supposed to reach 8 degrees today and I think that was entirely possible). And here, the visit to Henry VIII's Mound won the blip competition...

From the Mound there is a protected view of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London, over 10 miles (16 km) to the east, which was established in 1710. (A telescope is installed on the mound, for a better viewing experience.) This vista is protected by a "dome and a half" width of sky on either side. Wikipedia

Lucky to have a clear day for this fine, protected view.
