Pondering

Ah joys. Back at work today. Feeling better than I have the past couple of days and thought it would do me good. Utterly knackered by the ride in, but still better than having to sit on a bus, and so here I am back behind the desk. When I say 'here I am', I don't mean the pic above, that's clearly some other chap reading some papers int he sun in Charlotte Square Gardens. Not me. Behind a desk.

Right, anyway.

I definitely needed the lunchtime sunny blander, and there was plenty going on (given the sun was out). Prehaps most amusing was a stand-off over a car parking space on George Street. For anyone who doesn't know it there are basically parking spaces in between the two opposing lanes of traffic. Blue Mini and Silver Audi A4 had entered a free space from opposite sides at the same time, and neither of them appeared willing to back down. And so they stopped. Audi man was on his phone to someone, and a woman stood outside her office, laughing and explaining the situation to whoever was on the end of her phone.

I've no idea how long it had been going on for, but the A4, being a bigger car, was actually causing trouble for the buses trying to get past behind it and got beeped a couple of times.

Looking forward to the weekend, as much for the chance to relax as anything else. A 100 mile cycle had been planned for Sunday (70 mile audax, plus ride to and from the start/finish), but given I'm still lurgified it's probably not a good idea.

Bleurgh.
