Atlantic Rail Heritage Steam Train
Today, we let off some steam and hopped on to the Atlantic Rail for a day trip to Simon's Town. It's a journey aboard the Class 24 steam locomotive, a nostalgic iron horse built in 1949 that claims vintage wooden coaches dating back to1922 and 1938; the train comes complete with a lounge car and a full cash bar service.
The 5 ½-hour return trip winds its way along the rugged coast of False Bay, with the steep mountain slopes on one side and beautiful coves and beaches, on the other.
Exhale.
