Lockdown Day 20 - Easter is NOT Cancelled!
Easter is NOT cancelled, even with a virus that has put many around the world in various levels of lockdown. Christians have always found a way to worship, even when there are obstacles - illness, being housebound, persecution, or now these days - because of a pandemic.
So this year Easter was done differently, as ALL church services and meetings are being done differently. Some churches are broadcasting live, while others, like mine, are pre-recording services and making them available on YouTube. We even have a children’s slot. You may have seen a variety of ‘virtual choirs’ on social media. We did something similar with just pre-recorded voices of many in our congregation, and the result was beautiful. After the service I joined others from our congregation for a session on Zoom and we were able to see each other, catch up with news and pray together.
So here I am, relaxing in the garden and watching our online service. During this time of social isolation, hasn’t the modern technology been amazing and helpful in allowing us to connect with friends and family and congregations?
On Good Friday my blip was the Easter garden that I created. See my Extra photo for the update from early this morning!
