Long walk home

The snow continues to be so bad that there's no way we can get the car up the drive. Luckily, P had the foresight to move the car down into the village, half a mile away, before the snow got really bad, otherwise we'd have been stranded.

It means that every journey begins with a a half-mile trudge through the snow in our wellies. And of course, that means half a mile back again (uphill!) to get home again.

Today we had the hard job of coming home to an empty house. No Kara greeting us, no muddy paws to wipe. No little eyes peeking round the end of the sofa to ask us to take her out. No tippy-tappy toes echoing on the floorboards as she trots around. The house seems so empty without her.
