Shadow growth

The weather took a dramatic change for the worse after the glorious sunshine we'd been enjoying for several days. In normal times we'd have felt cheated and would moan about how often the weather is disappointing when a holiday weekend comes around. Not now, though, when we have much more weighty things to concern us.

It wasn't a total wash-out. The sun broke through at one stage during the afternoon and as I went back in to top-up my coffee I was struck by how large my shadow looked. Gigantic, it was. I'm shrinking if anything as time goes by, but my shadow doesn't seem to be aware of that.
