The Bluebells are out
Today with being fed up of street walking the dogs, we decided to explore what was left of the woodland behind the new houses recently built, so off we trecked and found quite a bit of it left so had a lovely woodland walk with lots of bluebells starting to come out. It's a bit of a walk to get there but well worth the effort. The kids used to play in the area they have built on and at a certain place the path through the wood narrowed was a bit overgrown and was known by the kids as the witches den. Not so any more. If you want the walk does continue over a field and up onto what is known as Roach Hills, will do that one day again.
It was a cold start to the day and although the sun came out it was a chilly wind all day. I think they have forecast frost tonight.
This afternoon I took some fuchsia cuttings and potted on some Mimulus plants into a larger pot. Must start on the hanging baskets soon. Not sure if I will have enough plants to do the usual amount with not getting to the garden centre again, but will improvise and hope the nasturtiums come up so I can use them in a couple of baskets.
Heard today from my cousin who is 91 in June saying they are well. poor love he has rheumatoid arthritis and confined to a wheelchair and his wife has Parkinson's and osteoporosis they have 3 carers a day visiting them. He said he got a letter saying he had to isolate for 12 weeks and like he said, what happens after 12 weeks I will still sit in my wheelchair all day confined to the house. I also heard from my youngest, he and the girls are still OK and a friend also is OK so it helps a bit when you know people are still well.
That's all folks, sleep tight. another day nearer the end.
