My cycle ride this morning was more like something from a disaster movie where I was all but the only survivor.
It appears that birds are unaffected by the virus as their early morning song was the only sound that greeted me as I set off in the otherwise eerie silence wrapped in a leaden grey sky. The lanes were still wet from last nights rain but there was not a single car or dog walker to be seen. The first sign of life was Paper Chick delivering her newspapers. It was good to see that communication has not entirely broken down but to no avail as there's no one left. I felt like shouting your wasting your time they're all dead they've all fallen victim to the virus. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a runner in the distance running quickly trying to shake off the virus. Whether he did I don't know as he disappeared from view. I continued my ride as a bedraggled survivor waited impatiently for me to pass before driving her X5 at speed towards the main road. A muntjac deer watch at the side of the road in bewilderment before turning on its heels and darting for cover in the undergrowth as this lonely survivor peddled by.
A car pulled off the main road and hurtled down the lane a strange manouver as most cars were on the main road heading out of town in the hope of finding some solace to build a new life away from this terrible virus.
Back to reality the Bentley bodywork is still progressing well. The rubbing down is finished and I managed to put an etching undercoat on the front nearside wing. Unfortunately the light grey paint highlights the smallest of blemishes and I'm pleased to say there weren't to many. I will continue to undercoat the nearside of the bonnet tomorrow and then move on further down the nearside as far as the paint will take me. I've ordered some more etching primer off eBay which should arrive at the end of the week. Once the etching coat has cured I will fill the highlighted blemishes then add a highbuild undercoat.
