Button

MaryElizaR's challenge today was finding an interesting/decorated button. 

I used to make my own clothes back in the  80's and 90's.  I used to knit a fair bit too.  Nowadays, you can buy a jumper ready-made for a fraction of the cost of the wool and mostly I don't have the time nor the inclination to knit.  I will occasionally make costumes but haven't made clothes for a long, long time. 

You can see in the extra some of the buttons I have accumulated over the years.   There was a time when military style was popular and I purchased these buttons (in the main blip) with a view of using them on a jacket.  They are made by Gaunt and Co and so would be British I presume but perhaps a blipper could tell me where they would likely to have been used - to something specific or just general military.
