Caterpillar patrol

As happened last year, we have caterpillars being destructive on the rose bushes. Going over each bush, knocking off the critters or squeezing them, complete with green rose leaf goo, is no fun. (but, first world problems ..) 
Despite 20 years of gardening here, there's rarely ever been enough roses to cut to bring indoors - at my Wiltshire house and in Aberdeenshire there were more.
