Tree in the garden

I remember going to Uganda for work and the people were marching and protesting down the road and I walked in the garden of the hotel and there were a number of these trees in the garden Don’t know what it’s called but always remember where I first saw it I have one in my garden It died right down and I waited to see what would happen and one leaf came out the ground today it’s a lovely tree
