Buttons!

Two of these buttons are identical "Maine" four hole buttons, a third is a "Maine" Five-G four hole button. For those outside the UK, Maine is one of the own brands of the UK department store Debenhams. The fourth button with the letter BH Luxury on it's edge is probably the Marks and Spencer's own brand Blue Harbour. I think they are all from shirt collars and fell off long before the shirt went to scrap/rags/charity shop....

The man who put four holes in buttons was an orphan who went on to become fabulously rich, and built a very grand house on the shores of the Golfe du Morbihan south of Vannes in Brittany On a trip a number of years ago, it was pointed out to us by the tour guide as we sailed past...
