Lockdown Routines
Today is the last day of week 3 of the Lockdown. A routine has developed.
It starts off cloudless, with an amazing clear blue sky. Almost every day it has been like this for the last 3 weeks. It’s kind of unsettling.
Whilst J is sorting herself out, I go into the back garden, to listen and look. This TV Ariel is a favourite perch. Today a wood pigeon and blackbird, joined after I took this by a robin.
Then inside for breakfast.
9am my working day starts. Quite a few on-line meetings throughout the day. This way of working is going to stick whenever this crisis ends. The way we work will change forever.
J sorts all sorts out during the day. Mail is delivered and quarantined to be opened tomorrow or the next day. A local garden centre delivers bags of compost and soil conditioner. Seems I’m lucky to have got the order in.
Lunch on our bench, in the sunshine.
I finish late today. Video call with my brother and sister. Good to chat. I am getting my head around the technology.
Last look and listen in our back garden. The great tit pair return. They chunter at me (I move out of their sight) and shoot into the bird box, maybe to roost.
J makes delicious salmon fish cakes, We are eating very healthily.
The Self Isolating Bird Club later on TV/YouTube. It’s become a fixture.
In the pre-Covid 19 world, retirement would have happened at Easter. I’ve put it back, Its good to try and help Salford, and it’s helping me too. We all need some structure to our days,
