Today's the day ............................. for ornamentation

I can't remember a time when these china ornaments were not on display in our family house - and that's probably because they are older than I am.

I think my Dad got them when he was in Kowloon in the north of Hong Kong Island during the war - but I may be completely wrong. At any rate, they are four chinese figures - two scribes and two musicians.

You will notice that the flute-type instrument that one of the musicians was originally playing until it got broken - has very cleverly been replaced with a cocktail stick.

It seems to be amusing him no end .........................
